My spitfire

Four and a half years ago, a nicu nurse talked to me about Haley and how she would be a spitfire.......at the time, I didn't really care for the statement. Today, I'm so thankful she is exactly that! I had no idea what a riot this little girl would be and how much determination can be bottled up in one little person.

Last night in Target, I made Haley use her walker since we would be doing a lot of walking. She was not thrilled about the idea since she has been walking in her casts independantly for a few days now, but she humored me. As we're walking thru the store, me leading the way, my attention was abruptly gotten by a loud, very stern demand to "get outta my way mom, I'm about to do something awesome! watch out!" Everyone around us about died laughing as she cleared the way, running in her walking. Yes, she is a spitfire!

Today, before laying down for rest time, she told me she had a trick to show me so I sat on the side of her bed. Haley tells me "you better get up from there, I'm about to do an awesome trick and you can't sit there." My thoughts, good heavens, what is she going to do. She stands across the room from her bed and runs (in her casts), jumps in the bed, and rolls across it about falling off the other side. She just laughs! "Wasn't that awesome mom?" Of course it was!

And to let you know what kind of stubborn streak this little girl has.......the other night Daddy had a little talk with her before bed about her attitude, listening, and getting along. He goes thru his talk, Haley intently listening, and he asks her "Haley, do you think you can do better tomorrow?".......her reply....with a grin, hands turned palm up, & a shrug of the shoulders "We'll see!"

All I can do sometimes is just shake my head and laugh. God love her!

Ha! Ha! Reece and Haley would seriously get into some major trouble if they were together for an extended period of time! I shudder to think of it! But you're right, God bless 'em for being that way! Thanks for sharing!
